Statistics: Dec business confidence index flat in mineral production

MOSCOW, Dec 26 (PRIME) -- Russia’s business confidence index remained flat on the year in the mineral production sector in December, but rose by 2 percentage points in the processing industries, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Thursday.

“The business confidence index, which reflects the generalized state of entrepreneurial activity from December 2018 till December 2019: remained flat at minus 4% in the mineral production sector and rose by 2 points to minus 6% in the processing industry,” the service said.

The economic situation in a company was seen favorable by 12% and satisfactory by 74% of managers in production of raw materials, while the figures for the processing industry stood at 10% and 74%, respectively.

A better situation in the next six months was expected by 21% of respondents in the mineral production industry and 24% in the processing industry. The number of optimists in the mineral production sector exceeded the amount of pessimists by 12 percentage points, and in the processing industry by 15 percentage points.
